Three-dimensional, time-resolved (4D) relative pressure mapping using magnetic resonance imaging.

We describe here a method for generating relative pressure maps from magnetic resonance velocity data in three spatial and one temporal dimension (4D). The relative pressure map calculated for pulsatile flow in a compliant phantom was shown to be consistent with independent pressure transducer measurements. The feasibility of performing 4D pressure mapping in vivo is also demonstrated.

Quantification of Breast Density Using Three-Dimensional Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Breast density has been proven as an independent risk factor of breast cancer. Due to the limitation of two dimensional mammographic density, various alternative imaging modalities have been investigated to provide more quantitative measurement of breast density. Among these potential imaging tools, three dimensional (3D) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) based density method is mostly studied. ...

Evaluation of Hip Translation using Three-Dimensional Magnetic Resonance Imaging

INTRODUCTION: Acetabular dysplasia has been implicated as an etiologic factor in the development of secondary osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip . Dysfunction of the hip secondary to dysplasia derives from multifactorial problems such as excessive stresses on the articular cartilage and dynamic hip instability. To our knowledge, however, there have been only a few studies investigating hip instabil...
